Meredith A. Bailey

Meredith Bailey started studying piano at the age of 4 when she decided to show off in front of her sister’s piano teacher.  She took lessons for 14 years, playing largely classical, romantic, and impressionist music.  In addition to solo recitals and performances as a part of her childhood lessons, Meredith has worked as a piano accompanist for solo instrumentalists, vocalists, and several school choral groups in New York and New Hampshire.  However, it is only very recently, over 25 years since she first began playing, that she has embarked on recording any of her performances.  Every once in a while, she remembers that she also plays the flute, piccolo, trumpet, and guitar, although none of them particularly well.

Here are some samples and free music downloads from Meredith:

“Wander My Friends” by Bear McCreary, from Battlestar Galactica, with additional arrangement by Meredith A. Bailey-MacLeod

“Swipsey Cakewalk” is a track from Meredith’s first released CD, available for purchase Here!:

“Arabesque No. 1” by Claude Debussy

“Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore, and George David Weiss; made famous by Elvis Presley; arrangement by Meredith A. Bailey.

The roots of this song’s melody are actually much older; the original melody is found in a 1784 French song called “Plaisir d’Amour” by Jean-Paul-Égide Martini, with lyrics taken from a poem by Jean-Pierre Claris de Florian.
